A contemporary hijab and clothing brand for modern and practical Muslim women. Inspired by hijab-wearing women that are always on the go
Tasks
My task for this brand involved working with Bokitta designers to develop new modern packaging for the extensive Bokitta hijab line. The new packaging entailed changing the original plastic seal bags with cardstock containers and hangtags. The packaging went through a major aesthetic overhaul by the addition of various color palettes and containers for each style of hijab, a far cry from the original clear plastic seal bag and inserts. I worked within the brand's guidelines and styles to design packaging for both the company's everyday and luxury styles, shipping containers, travel cases and advertising collateral.

Packaging - Brick and Mortar
The benefit of updating the brand packaging from its original plastic seal bags was how visually cohesive it became with the aesthetic of their stores in Malaysia and Dubai. The stores themselves give off a look of luxury and style, stocked with options but not to a degree that it would appear cluttered, keeping with a high-end boutique look. To purchase from a store like this, consumers expect packaging similar to that of its source and the new packaging developed meets that criteria.
Packaging - Online
While a physical location can significantly affect a brand's relationship with its native consumers, an online presence (60% of sales for retailers generally occur online)is key to a healthy sales quarter. In an era where brand recognition comes through digital banners, video advertisements, instagram posts and various platform influencer shoutouts, a product that is aesthetically pleasing is benefitial for the brand from beginning to end.
